Remembering Deborah
Many Bull City Commons members attended Deborah Brogden's memorial service at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church on November 1, 2025. A week later, we held our own special remembrance evening for Deborah. Deborah Brogden - 1950-2025
Deborah, one of BCC's founding members, passed away suddenly near the end of October. She had a big, colorful personality, and her passing leaves a uniquely Deborah-shaped hole in our hearts.

Stopped by Locopops the other night ( just down the street ), and felt the need to capture its flavors board for posterity. BTW: One of the Guest Star flavors, the "Flu Shot," is -- according to the Locopops site -- "OJ and a kiss of bourbon plus a little honey and cayenne for good luck."

Celebrating Diwali, the "Festival of Lights"
This year, BCC enjoyed its first celebration of Diwali , the "Festival of Lights," Two of our members, Swati and Manish, shared with us the story behind the annual Hindu festival, which has variations in other Indian religions. Diwali celebrates light over dark, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. So, following our monthly potluck which coincided with the fourth night of Diwali celebrations, we went outside and lit sparklers to drive the dark night away.
