Lee

I believe the caring and cooperative nature of cohousing is what the world needs now more than ever. After spending nearly 10 years in the Boulder, Colorado area my son, who will be off to California for his freshman year at Claremont McKenna next Fall, I am ready for a new adventure. An earlier experience living in cohousing in Ithaca, NY opened my eyes to the potential that cohousing offers. After researching cohousing options all over the country, the Durham area's diverse community, BCC's sociocracy process, along with the community's vision and values, were pivotal to my decision to move to North Carolina.

I grew up in the Pennsylvania and Boston area and spent my early adulthood in San Francisco and had my son in Santa Cruz. My eclectic background helps me enjoy a wide variety of activities and contribute to many types of conversations - whether it's watching surfing, enjoying Shark Week, the latest arthouse film, debating the best Star Trek season or discussing the latest on BBC news.

In my spare time I love repurposing reclaimed items & materials and helping others with power tools and/or super glue. While you won't find me baking cookies, raising a growing boy and his friends has made me quite adept at the gas grill. Sheldon Cooper, my schnauzer, will help me explore the nearby trails and neighborhoods. I love being in and around water and look forward to learning what the area holds for recreational activities.

I'm excited to learn, grow, discover the area, and help to build this into an amazing community.

The ink hasn't even dried on Lee's membership contract and she is itching to join several circles to pitch in as soon as she can...all from long distance! We can't wait for her to join us in Durham!
