Providing extensive real estate development experience to Bull City Commons as the Owner’s Representative and Project Manager.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

 

Throughout a 20-year career as a community development professional, Christine has managed a wide array of multifamily housing and commercial projects. She served as the project manager for the construction of a 24-unit residential condominium building for Durham Central Park Cohousing Community -- Durham's first cohousing community developed in central Durham in late 2014 (Bull City Commons is the second!).

   

Christine served as the owner's representative and helped secure financing for a variety of commercial projects in Durham that completed between 2014 and 2019, including:

Before starting her own owner’s representative and project management practice, Christine worked for the Community Home Trust in Chapel Hill, NC, for 10 years as their lead project manager. She became an expert on organizing community land trusts to support affordable housing as well as managing complex construction projects with multiple funding sources.

During her time at Community Home Trust, Christine managed the development process from land acquisition through construction and sale of properties. She was responsible for negotiating land acquisitions including identifying lots, performing all due diligence, and negotiating the terms of purchase. Christine secured both state and local subsidies to support affordable housing, as well as negotiated and supervised multi-million-dollar construction contracts. Christine successfully secured the entitlement rights to develop multiple projects working closely with local governments. She successfully managed multimillion dollar projects on time and on budget.

Christine has lived in Durham for over 20 years. She shares her home with her wife and two naughty dachshund hounds. She enjoys cooking and hiking in her free time.
